Health officials are alerting dog owners to not buy, handle or feed their pet any pig ear treats. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stated that at least 16 owners have become ill from salmonella after handling these treats. Furthermore, they stated that it is not from a single supplier, distributor or common brand that has been identified. Throughout 35 states, 143 people have been infected with strands of salmonella. Some symptoms to look for include diarrhea, fever and stomach cramps.
