One of our veterinary staff volunteers time and services every week at this local shelter. In fact, Veremedy Pet Hospital oversees all of the care for the animals waiting to find homes at Lucy Mac.
For years Veremedy has fielded a team of bikers and walkers to raise money at this annual event. We have had members of our staff who have battled cancer, and we are hopeful that advances in cancer care for humans will benefit pets as well.
Started in 1998 by Dr. Burrington and Mr. Ted Keith, this local non-profit organization raises much needed money for pet owners who have fallen on hard times and who have unexpected pet care bills. In 2011, the devastation wrought by tropical storm Irene provided ample opportunity for NEFAH to help out the region’s pet owners. The money raised from the annual golf tournament, and from donations from concerned pet owners was put to good use by the staff at Veremedy Pet Hospital. NEFAH continues to hold yearly fundraising events and accepts donations online.
